Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.

When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.

Calista is a petite, young GSD about 18 months old, who came to FRGSR from a kill shelter where her time was up. Her side is shaved from her spay surgery. She is super alert and observant as she walks nicely on a leash. She seems to have a fairly high chase instinct (rabbits, birds, etc), so she may not do well in a home with cats. She is somewhat reserved around strangers, but will likely relax more with time. We will post more as we get to know her.

We do not have a facility for you to visit, all of our dogs are in foster care. If you'd like to adopt or meet some of the dogs, please fill out an Adoption Application. We require an application, phone interview and home visit prior to adoption. We will discuss specific dogs with an applicant only AFTER the written application is approved.
