Hi, my name is Valk, and I'm a beautiful one year old female GSD who was transferred from a shelter where I was surrendered by my former owners. They had me for 9 months and kept me in the back yard during the day and either in the garage or an out-building at night. They didn't properly socialize or train me, and the volunteers have worked with me, but things take time.  If you are interested, please go to adoptagsd.org and submit an online application. My adoption fee is $400. Update: I've been living in a foster home and my foster mom has invested lots of time into training and socializing me, so I'm now in a much better place. I now follow commands like "Sit, down, stay, wait, heel and come" unless I get distracted by a pesky grasshopper. I also love to grab my mom's shoe as a way to get her to chase me. I love to go for walks or play tug. An area where I still need work involves me thinking I need to bark at deer or other dogs, but I'm slowly learning to watch quietly. I would still benefit from an adopter who can provide me with a good dose of exercise and mental stimulation and in return, I can provide love and loyalty.
