Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.

When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.

Referral Amy is with FRIENDS OF JACK RESCUE. She is an absolute sweetheart. She is a playful 4.5 yr old GSD mix, and she would love to live in a semi-active household. When Amy came to us, she had severe pain in her hip. We took her to a specialist where is was deemed that she needed to have her hip joint removed. She had surgery and is almost fully healed. she will never be a hiking or running dog, but she does enjoy long walks. She will love you forever if you let her cuddle with you, but also she also understands boundaries if you tell her to lay down next to you. She can "sit, leave it and come". She's still learning "Stay" since she always wants to be by your side. 

We think Amy would do best as an only dog or with a more submissive dog and no small animals. She is fully house trained and can be trusted home alone without a crate fo about 4 hours at a time.
