Hi, my name is Caligula and I'm a handsome one year old GSD who was surrendered to FRGSRby my former family when their new housing didn't allow GSDs. Losing my family has been very difficult for me and the volunteers noticed that I was initially acting scared and defensive. Initially, I tend to warm up to women first, but I'm super happy to see some of my favorite male volunteers too.  I do love to play with toys and a ball, but I'm not so great at bringing the ball back. I ride well in the car and walk decently on a leash. I will need an experienced GSD handler in my furever home. If you are interested, please submit an online application at adoptagsd.org. My adoption fee is $350. Update: the volunteers have taken me on long walks as well as to meet and greet events, and I've done fantastic around both dogs and people. In fact, I've shown no reactivity to other dogs who bark or snap at me. I've been living in a boarding kennel and they take excellent care of me, but I'd really love to have a home and a family to call my own. I'm a dog who would do best with moderate, regular exercise (no 14'ners), but getting out for a less strenuous hike would be great for me!
