Hi, my name is Raina and I'm a beautiful 9 month old GSD who was transferred from a shelter where I was surrendered by my former owner who moved into an apartment with breed restrictions. My former owner took me on multiple walks per day. In the shelter, I was scared and defensive. I did warm up to certain volunteers and around them, I was more relaxed. They report that I was under-socialized with other dogs and would become a bit barky with introductions. In my first home, I lived successfully with a cat. I am looking for a GSD experienced handler who doesn't have young kids. I may be able to live with a calmer canine companion. I'm currently living in a boarding kennel because there are no foster slots available, and it's noisy and stressful. I'm hoping to find my forever family soon so I can start the next chapter of my life. If you are interested, please submit an online application at adoptagsd.org. My adoption fee is $350. Update:  The rescue noticed that my weight was dropping, so a vet ran some tests on me, and I've been diagnosed with EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency). As a result, I need to have enzymes added to my food so that I can properly digest it. I've been living in a foster home with two adults and I seem to be more comfortable with women than men. I'm doing fine with the three other dogs in the home - a Boston Terrier, a GSP and a GSD. I've been on hikes and I've done fine meeting horses and other people on the trail, but I'm protective at home. I'll need a GSD experienced adopter who doesn't have people coming and going all the time. I'm house-trained, crate-trained and I'm not a chewer. I'm a loyal girl who'd love to find my forever family.
