Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.

When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.

Hi, my name is Arianna, or Aria for short, and I'm a beautiful five year old GSD who was surrendered by my former owner who took me in when her uncle passed away. My owner said that I have some anxiety issues and she wasn't able to give me the time and attention I needed. She said I was very attentive to new scents on my turf and I would follow them to discover what they were. She also reported that I'm not comfortable around small kids or dogs. I did do okay with larger dogs with proper introductions. The volunteers with FRGSR have noted that I really enjoy getting outside for walks and I do warm up quickly, but I get anxious while being leashed up. I walk nicely on leash and follow basic commands. More info to come as I settle in. I will need an adopter who will provide me with leadership and mental/physical stimulation in order to meet my needs.
