Hi, my name is Elexi, and I'm a beautiful two year old Akbash, a breed that originated in Turkey and often was/is used for protecting (not herding) livestock. I'm a big girl, weighing in at nearly 90 pounds. My former owner gave up on me because the small dog in the house and I didn't get along and I drew the short straw, so now I'm trying to figure out my "new life".  All of the changes have been overwhelming and scary for me. I'm a bit cautious when I meet new people, but I warm up quickly. I love to go for walks with the FRGSR volunteers. Presently, I'm a little shy around other dogs, and I will curl my lip if they get right up in my face. The volunteers are taking things slowly with me regarding introductions with other dogs. More info to come. My adoption fee is $350.

Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible,the animals you see may already be in an adoption process.
