Hi, my name is Thelma, and I'm a really pretty 3 yr old GSD who came from a deplorable situation in which I lived in filth with a number of other GSDs where we were allegedly fed just once a week. We all lived this way until one of my canine siblings broke through a window and several of the dogs escaped. This event led us to rescue and a couple of us were transferred to FRGSR where we are now looking for a new forever home. Although I've missed out on many things most dogs are provided with like consistent feedings, a soft dog bed on which to sleep and loving leadership from an owner, I'm ready for a new beginning! Like many dogs who come from similar situations, I find new people to be scary, but I welcome a gentle petting if you take things slowly with me. I'm a bit camera shy, so this is the only picture available for right now. An ideal home for me would be with a confident handler who won't baby me because of my past. I'm ready to learn how to stand tall and enjoy my new life! I need a little bit of time for the rescue to get to know me prior to adoption. The volunteers will post more about me soon. My adoption fee is $350.
