Hi, my name is Timber, and I'm a super handsome three year old sable GSD who's had a tough go of things in life so far. I started off in TX where I kept escaping the yard with my Rotti buddy. My first owner came to the shelter, picked up my brother, then he walked into my kennel, patted me on the head and walked away. I cried and cried and the volunteers were so touched that they wrote this on my shelter records. I was transferred to FRGSR and stayed in a foster home where I did really well, then I was adopted out to a nice family who said they loved me, but then things changed in their lives and they kept their other GSD but sent me back to the rescue. Thankfully, I went back to the same foster home where I started, so I didn't have to start all over in another unknown setting. My foster mom says my spirit isn't broken, but she can see that it's got some deep "dents" in it, understandably so. She promised to do everything possible to find my FOREVER home next time. I get along with both people and other dogs, but I can be protective of my pack and turf (I bark when strangers are present), so I need a handler who can work with this. Because of my protective nature, I would likely do best in a home with kids who are at least six years old. I'm housetrained but I do sometimes "piddle" if I get really nervous. I do fine in a crate too. I would love to find a confident adopter with a canine who needs a friend. I also need a secure fence. My adoption fee is $350.
