About Pearl Bailey

  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Sable
  • Current Age: 8 Years 4 Months (born on 3/14/2017)

Hi, my name is Pearl Bailey and I'm a gorgeous 1 yr old sable GSD, and my former family left me at the shelter because they said they were moving and couldn't take me with them. I was confused and stressed out because I didn't understand what was happening, and there were a lot of strangers handling me. Then a nice man with a calm voice from FRGSR picked me up and took me to meet another volunteer from the rescue. I was relaxed enough to wag my tail around her, but I'm still wondering what's happening to me. I need some time to settle in, and the volunteers will post more as they get to know me.  My adoption fee is $400. Update:  The folks who are working with me think that I might not have been socialized well in my former home and I'm just learning how to play with other dogs. Sometimes it can be overwhelming and I can get a bit grumpy. Hopefully with time, this will get better. UPDATE: Well, here I am three months later and I've made a lot of progress! I'm now living in a foster home with another GSD, a GSP and a Boston Terror who's kinda bossy, but I just ignore him. As much as I love to play, I'm still trying to figure out this etiquette stuff, and sometimes, when I pounce on my GSD foster brother, he looks at me the way a senior looks at a freshman on the first day of high school. Oh well, I'm a happy girl and I'll just keep trying until I figure it out, but most of the time we have a blast chasing each other around the yard. I'm house trained and I have lots of puppy energy. I love to mouth my mom's garden gloves when she pulls weeds. She's working with me on walking nicely on leash and trying to fatten me up a bit, because I'm a little underweight. Like most FRGSR dogs, I'm a work in progress, but I think I'm well worth all the effort you'll invest in me. I hope you agree!

Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, the animals you see may already be in an adoption process.
