Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.

When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.

Waco came to us as a result of overcrowded shelters in Texas after Hurricane Harvey. The shelters wisely are sending out dogs and cats that were already looking for homes before the hurricane hit. That way the dogs lost because of the destruction will be available for reunions with their human families. 

Waco is a strong powerful, two year old dog. Rides well in the car, but does bark at panhandlers standing on the corners or people coming near the car. Waco plays a little too rough for small dogs.  More as we get to know him. 

Update: Waco is settling in at a foster home with two other dogs (a GSP and a Boston Terrier) and he's doing great with everybody (humans too). He is house trained, crate trained, knows some basic commands and loves playing with toys and the other dogs. He does need leash work and he gets barky when he sees other people, so his foster mom is working with him on this. Even though Waco is a sweet boy, because of his size, he might be a bit much for kids under 10 years old. The adoption team feels that Waco may do best as a ranch dog with an owner who has experience with extra large, very strong dogs who can teach him to leave livestock alone.  Adoption fee is $300.
