Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.

BellaDonna is a beautiful, smaller, two year old black GSD who was transferred to FRGSR after she was surrendered to a shelter for repeatedly escaping the yard with her canine sibling (partners in "crime"). Please note that we do not have any info regarding the height of the fence in her former home, but we feel a home with a six foot fence would be best. She gets along great with people, but she has demonstrated that she enjoys being alpha in a pack of dogs so FRGSR folks have had to supervise her closely during play activity. She would likely make a great addition to a home with an active, outdoorsy adopter who will provide her with enough mental and physical stimulation to meet her needs so her desire to escape will decrease significantly. Update: Bella is living in a foster home with three other dogs and she is the perfect house guest. She is housetrained, crate trained, she doesn't chew anything and she has a very quiet, sweet manner. One of the resident dogs loves to chase a ball and Bella enjoys running along. She sometimes shows dominance by putting her head over the neck of the other dog, but if she's told "No", she stops immediately. Her recall is excellent. This girl has been passed over, we think, because she's black, but once you spend time with her, she will steal your heart!
