Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.

When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.

Cash is a really handsome plush coat, smaller GSD who was transferred from a shelter where he was surrendered by his former owner when he lost his home. According to shelter reports the former owner said that Cash loves people but he's not been socialized with other dogs. When the shelter staff dog-tested him, Cash was fairly reactive, so we have worked on this and he's doing great! He knows some basic commands, he's house trained and crate trained, but he likes to chew things, so he'll need to be closely supervised. Cash will need an adopter who can commit to working with him on his dog socialization skills in a controlled manner (no dog parks) so as to set him up for success rather than failure. He is a dog who needs work on his manners, so we recommend a home without kids. Update: Cash has spent time in foster care and he has done very well living with other dogs. He still needs work trusting that each meal won't be his last, but for now, he has been fed separate from other dogs. He LOVES to play with other dogs and/or retrieve a ball. Recently, he and Gypsy had a blast running and playing together. He would likely do well with an active adopter who has a playful female dog who's looking for a companion.
