Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.

When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.

Timber is a very handsome two year old sable GSD who was transferred from a kill shelter where he was abandoned by his previous owner. Timber and his female canine companion kept escaping the owner's yard and ending up at the same shelter. Recently, the owner went to the shelter to claim the Rotti, but walked up to Timber, gave him a pat on the head and walked away. The shelter reported that Timber cried and cried when his owner left. The day he arrived at his FRGSR foster home, he seemed to be looking for an escape - no doubt to try to find the family who didn't want him anymore. However, with each passing day, he is relaxing more and wanting to to play with the other dogs. He's house broken, crate trained, knows some basic commands and loves other dogs. He seems to be a bit more comfortable with women than men but with a gentle approach, he does warm up. He does tend to be mischievous if left uncrated and likes to eat shoes and dog beds, but he does fine being crated while his foster mom is not home. An ideal home would be one where he'd have a canine companion of fairly similar age with a high desire to play. As sweet as he is, Timber could be annoying to a dog who doesn't have the same desire to play. He also needs a secure 6' fence as he can sail over a 4' fence. This boy is the epitome of sweet and loyal and he will make a wonderful companion for a family who will offer him the forever home he deserves.
