Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.

When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.

Odan is a very smart, gentle, dog who will be 4 years old in October.  He was surrendered because his owner could no longer give him the care and exercise he needs.  He knows basic commands as well as "shake" and "hands" (high five); he obeys quickly and generally without repeating.  Walks are a great adventure for him; his nose never quits working!  He enjoys the dog park and has not been reactive to other dogs, either on leash or off.  He doesn't wander far from his human and recalls well. Like most GSD's he has a lot of energy and needs mental and physical challenges.  He's currently living with other GSDs and mixed breeds.    He was initially skittish on hardwood, tile and linoleum floors but, with help, has learned to walk on them without a problem.  He's intelligent and learned the routine at his foster home, including the use of a dog door, quickly.  He's an affectionate dog who would enjoy a house with a yard to run in.  He likes to play with toys and play ball, although he sometimes prefers 'keep away' to ‘fetch'.  Odan is not a barker and will make a great companion for someone willing to work with him.
