When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.

Hi, my name is Freedom and I'm a beautiful, five year old GSD who was transferred from a shelter where I arrived with a chain embedded deeply in my neck. The vet at the shelter removed the collar which left me with a large wound that needs to heal. The obvious conclusion is that I was chained outside and I somehow mustered up the strength to pull hard enough to break free and run to safety. Besides my neck wound, I also arrived with worms and I tested positive for heartworm, so I'm undergoing treatment to address all of my health concerns. I'm a really sweet girl and I know many may skip past me because of my age and health issues.  My hope is that special someone is out there to provide me with a loving home, a soft bed to sleep on and continued vet care until I'm healthy again. Also, I will need a home without small dogs. More info to come. My adoption fee is $350. Update: I'm all healed up and I've completed my heart worm treatment. I'm doing well and would love to find a forever home! My foster mom says I may do best either asan only dog or with a well balanced male companion who will respect my space.
