Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.

When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.

Rocky Balboa is a handsome five year old, highly athletic dog.His former owner has moved to a place where they could not have dogs, so he took them to the shelter.  Rocky does great with both dogs and people except small children because of his herding tendencies. He is house trained, crate trained and knows his basic commands (sit, down, wait/stay) but he does need leash work. As much as he enjoys being around other dogs, we have found that going to a dog park is a bit over stimulating for him, so his foster mom runs him with her pack of dogs on a friend's ranch.  Rocky would do best with an active, outdoorsy person and/or as a jogging partner in a more rural setting. He does have a high prey drive/chase instinct (rabbits, deer, bicycles, etc), but he's been taught not to chase the cats in his foster home. He has also not bothered the cows or horses on the ranch where he is exercised. Rocky has been passed over again and again due to his chase instinct, but with commitment and close observation on the part of his new owner, we believe he would be a wonderful pet for the right adopter. Rocky has a way of stealing a person's heart and we hope that this boy will find his forever home soon! Rocky is UTD on vaccines, he's neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250.
