Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.

When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.

Gypsy is a sweet, happy girl who was found as a stray and taken to a shelter and then transferred to FRGSR. She is an affectionate 3 yr old GSD who has been waiting for a long time for her forever family to come along. Given that she was a stray, her past is a mystery, but what we've learned about Gypsy is that she loves people and does fine around other non-dominant, playful  dogs. Gypsy has done great at our meet and greet events being surrounded by dogs she doesn't know well and we hope we can find her the forever home she deserves very soon. Update: Gypsy has been living in a foster home with a GSD, a GSP and a Boston Terrier and she's done great with all three dogs. We have found that she does seem overly interested in very small dogs (under 20 lbs), so a home with medium to large sized dogs would be best. She's house trained, crate trained and loves to snuggle up with her humans after a nice long walk. She's not ready for dog parks, but she loves other outdoor adventures like hiking. If you are looking for a loyal companion, Gypsy is waiting!
